Susan Boyle Sold 14 Million Albums In 14 Months

January 25th, 2011

Susan Boyle has sold an amazing 14 million albums in 14 months.

And the Scots singing sensation has been cracking open the champagne with music industry bosses to celebrate.

Susan, 49, from Blackburn, West Lothian, was delighted to learn that she is the highest selling artist in the world for Sony music for the second year running.

The singer, who was presented with a special award to mark the 14million sales albums I Dreamed A Dream and The Gift, said: “Words can’t describe how happy I am. Seeing this award made it all so real.

“I’ve loved every minute and I can’t wait to get back in to the studio again and for all the other exciting projects that 2011 will bring.”

Subo was joined at a party in London, by the musicians who worked on the records and Sony workers.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden last week admitted that the singer was so special the show will never unearth another like her.

Amanda said: “That moment will never, ever happen again in the history of television.”

Earlier this month, Susan welcomed family and friends to a house-warming bash at her new £300,000 home in Blackburn.

Susan Boyle Moves To New Home

January 20th, 2011

Susan Boyle partied the weekend away with a house warming for close friends and family in her new five-bedroom house, in West Lothian, Scotland.

The new £300,000 property is located in her hometown of Blackburn and is an upgrade on her previous modest council house.

The 1,700 square foot home includes a top-of-the range kitchen, three bathrooms, a double garage and solar panels.

The “Britain’s Got Talent” star had security issues in her last home after she interrupted a burglar last year. The teenage boy fled from the scene when Boyle arrived home.

Susan Boyle Nominated For Grammys Best Pop Album

December 3rd, 2010

These are two names you wouldn’t normally hear in the same sentence.

Susan Boyle is set to go up against Lady Gaga at next year’s Grammy Awards after both artists scored nominations in the coveted Best Pop Vocal Album category.

The 49-year-old singer, whose second album the Gift was released last month, was stunned by her inclusion in the nominations.

She said in a statement today: ‘Up against wonderful artists like Lady GaGa and Katy Perry I don’t expect to win for a moment but how fantastic just to be recognised like this with a nomination on my first album.’

Perry is nominated for her latest album Teenage Dream, which has spawned hits California Gurls, Firework and the title single.

Justin Bieber and John Mayer round out the category with their records My World 2.0 and Battle Studies, respectively.

Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Boyle has sold over ten million copies worldwide of her debut album I Dreamed A Dream, while Gaga’s The Fame Monster has achieved over 14 million global sales, with 2.4 million in the UK, according to the Official Charts Company sales data.

Katy Perry was the only artist in the pop album category on hand in Los Angeles to hear the nominations last night.

The singer, who dressed for the theme in a metallic confection, is also up for Album of the Year.

Susan Boyle’s Album, The Gift, Tops UK Chart

November 17th, 2010

Susan Boyle got an early Christmas present yesterday, when her album The Gift shot to the top of the charts.

Her second No 1 album confirms the Britain’s Got Talent star as one of music’s most lucrative brands.

The Gift sold 102,993 copies in its first week, almost double the total of nearest contender Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits collection.

Susan, 49, also stormed the US album charts and looks set to knock country singer Taylor Swift off the Billboard 100 top spot next week.

But despite a personal wealth expected to top £20million by the end of the year, Susan lives in a modest £300,000 four-bedroom home in Blackburn, West Lothian.

The singer’s first album, I Dreamed A Dream, has sold already nine million copies around the world.

Susan performed for the Pope on his visit to the UK and last week sang to Prince Charles at The Mirror’s Pride of Britain awards.
